Tropical Rush started out as a lunch wagon in 1986 directly across the street from Rocky Point on Hawaii Northshore of Oahu. September 2011 they will be celebrating 17 years at there current location in Haleiwa, Hawaii. Two years ago Glen and his wife Cecilia Lane approached Volcom’s Hawaii sales rep Clint Moncata about allocating 2000 square feet of there store to Volcom, six months later Volcom’s featured store Tropical Rush was recreated and they can proudly take the claim as Volcom’s Northshore Headquarters.
There are a few unique features you will find when entering Tropical Rush, aside from always having the latest Volcom and Volcom Hawaii product you will notice a very clean and perfectly merchandised store. Glen is up early every morning making sure there isn’t a t-shirt out of place and by 10am when the store opens, Glen is ready to pass the daily sales duties to his wife and friendly staff. After your shopping experience is finished in the cooled air conditioning of Tropical Rush but just before your ready to step out into Hawaii’s warm tropical climate, every customer who purchases any Volcom product are treated to a “Free Shave Ice”.
For 2011 you will see that Tropical Rush will be adding premium brewed coffee to there shave ice section of the store and will be turning this section into a Volcom ENT. Section featuring Volcom Ent. Memorabilia, a Volcom Ent. listening station, and of course Volcom Ent. Product. Volcom’s Northshore Headquarters: Tropical Rush located across the bridge in Haleiwa, Hawai'i.
